Chrissy Teigen Pregnant Announces Her 40DD Bra Size
A few days ago, pregnant Chrissy Teigen opened up about all the changes her body has been going through with her pregnancy. She said that her breasts were now a 40DD and her nipples were “all kinds of weird.” As any mom knows, pregnancy does change the breasts (they usually get huge). Then, in the post-pregnancy phase, with or without breastfeeding, they change again (unfortunately, usually not for the better, myself included).
These fluctuations in size and breast tissue can result in sagging or deflation of the breasts and enlargement or other changes in the areolae. Women get breast surgery to get their “perky” pre-pregnancy look back.
Often times, this is through breast augmentation, breast lift (mastopexy), areolar reduction, or a combination of these things. A detailed breast consultation is important to determine what the correct surgery is.
Also, it is important to take into consideration how one feels about scars or long-term care of breast implants. One of the most common mistakes I see is breast augmentation when the patient really needs a breast augmentation and a lift.
When the breast is droopy or the skin very stretchy (nipple to IMF length long) placing only an implant will often result in a double bubble – essentially the implant sitting high on the chest with the breast tissue hanging off it. Also, long term as the skin stretches even more, this can result in a rock-in-a-sock look.
I’ve had to revise these and other less-than-ideal results. Some women can get away with just a lift or a lift with fat grafting to the breast.
When performed skillfully and with proper pre-op planning, post-pregnancy breast rejuvenation surgery is one of the greatest things women do for themselves after having a baby. Many women are able to get through pregnancy without having their breasts sag and I’m hoping Chrissy is one of them. But if she’s like most of us who could use a little help to get the perky back – Chrissy, call my office.
